Day trip to Muar

I took a day drive to Muar with my aunt , who is my mother’s younger sister . Since both my parents are from Muar , I have aunts & uncles and probably a phethora of relatives who either reside in Muar , in Kuala Lumpur and surburbs and in Johor and elsewhere . My father is a kampung ( village )boy from Parit Raja which is probably like 2 miles from the house . My mother is from the town of Muar so she is considered I guess, a townie . We arrived in Muar about 11.30 am at the house . The main objective of the trip was for me to have a look at the progress of the house and to meet my contractor there so that if anything needs to rectified then it is easier if my contractor was there so that it can be done. I had to also get a broken fan replaced with the new fan as the electrical shop was in Jalan Abdullah in the town .

The bathroom fixtures have not been installed yet . I need to buy bathroom taps which I forgot and sinks . I have requested that there should be 4 plug points instead of the 2 plug points . I can fit in a day bed with a small table to put an electrical kettle and a mini fridge . The Rumah Kebun looks livable now . The bathroom is a good size to fit a shower and a small wash basin .

The windows have wooden frames so needs to have elasticated rubber around it as there are gaps in between the wooden frames which will lead to cold air escaping if AC is on . The windows are original windows . The roof of the Rumah Kebun have been mended . There were termites at the wooden beams but now, termites are gone and the wooden beans that holds the roof is sturdy .

I will blog on the house next but I did not take so many photos of the house in the front but rather the interiors.

    1. Hi Mak Uchu ,
No divider for the bathroom for Rumah Kebun because of the layout of the shower on the other side and the toilet on the opposite so no need for divider . The small basin is on the side of the toilet as per plan lay out .
There is a sliding door separating the bathroom from the room in the Rumah Kebun .
