Drove not too early from Melaka to Muar on Sunday morning using the old road which is a leisurely drive. It is longer to drive by using the PLUS highway than to use the old road from Melaka to Muar.

The Lontong at this shop was pretty good compared to the Lontong that is served in KL . Able to find a shop ( or more like a 1/4 of a shop )that sells Apam Balik ( Muar style ) that is full of red beans , so yummy . Its a bit like the red bean cake sold in Japan but this one in Muar is yummier .I remember that I use to buy this Apam Balik with my dad a long time ago whenever we go back to Muar . It seems that the Apam Balik recipe and shop has been handed down 3 generations now as the son is now selling the Apam Baliks . Have no photos of the yummy Apam Baliks haiyah ….

The house is almost 80% completed . Missing are the doors which are the front doors, French doors for the patio , bathroom doors and bedroom doors . The kitchen also have not been installed as the carpenter needs to get into the house to do that . The timber flooring ( herringbone pattern )of the 2 bedrooms are not done either because installation of timber flooring needs the floor to be completely dry . The installers have come 2x but the floor was not completely dry so they were unable to lay the timber.

One worker was there but all other manual workers have gone . The one worker was like a carpenter because he was treating the wood slates that will be at the bedrooms . He seems quite skilled according to my aunt’s observations .

Arranged to meet Encik Rahman at the house . We went to look at the garden shed and the kebun . Encik Rahman has not been to the house since the workmen was here . Instructed Encik Rahman to clear up the Kebun now since no more workmen left or only 1 or 2 workmen left only now . He promised that he will do that.

Spotted a grass snake in the bushes in the Kebun. Relatively harmless but not the python as the python will wait for you before it strikes . This is according to Encik Rahman and I believe him. There are traces of wild boars in terms of the rooting activities around trees but I took no photos . Will do that the next time as I am bad at documenting all of my trips to Muar .Afterwards , went with Encik Rahman to look at land that is planted with oil palm in Kampung Sungei Muda . The land is slightly less than 2 acres and there is a bridge to cross it . We did not walk into the land as it has been raining so one really need gum boots to be traipsing about . Muar has many irrigation drains or Parits. Johor as a state is relatively well-developed in terms of infra-structure of roads . Followed Encik Rahman’s car through a palm oil estate to cut across to the main road. This short cut is a small road through an palm oil estate but a tarred one so I can still drive through even though the palms were close near to my windscreen of my car.
Went to the electrical shop in Muar town and bought a cooker with 2 burners , a hood with a strong suction power and an oven . This is for the kitchen as I need to buy the appliances so that the carpenter can customized according to the measurement of the appliances . I wanted to look around for garden nurseries in Muar as I foresee, I need some landscaping to be done for the garden of the house . We left Muar at 4 pm But I need to do some research on whereabouts of garden nurseries in Muar . So the next time , will search around for garden nurseries & check out prices . Arrived home at 9.30 pm as had dinner at my sister’s house before arriving home at my condo . Was tired out !
