OK , this is a digression from the house in Muar . My elder sister requested that the silver items for “hantaran” for Munirah’s ( my niece ‘s) up & coming engagement and subsequent marriage to use my Mum’s collection of sliver. The sliver collection of my Mum’s is so tarnished . I went to a professional company who does polishing for brass & sliver to request that the company do the polishing . However, the sliver needs to be re-chromed and the brass cutlery and miscellaneous items those that are brass , those items can be polished .

The items are above which includes

1. 10 trays +9 pieces catering items that needs chroming
2. Cutleries – brass for polishing
3. 8 ladle’s
4. 7 forks
5. 6 small desert forks
6. 3 brass coasters

Only the brass items can be polished . The rest of the silver ware that belongs to my Mum needs to be re-chromed and if these items were polished , the patterns on the trays will not show which means the beauty of these pieces will be less . The silver items will be ready by this Wednesday so I need to pick them up so that Munirah’s “hantaran” can be done before her engagement this Sunday . I had paid quite a bit ( this is being English in my understatement ) for the chroming and polishing but at least these items can be used again . I hope the person who does the “hantaran” for Munirah will do the gifts nicely on these silver trays & please , use fresh flowers to decorate the gifts for the “hantaran” . The trays are Munirah’s grandmother’s after all so are heirlooms. Hope my late mum will be happy that her “cucu” is using items that were her treasures , here I go again being sentimental ….. ha ha ha .

But if I do not re-chrome or polish these items , these items cannot be used and will lay dusty in boxes in my condo so really no choice , in a way .
