I have not blogged since 25 Sept about the house in Muar . This is because I have nothing much to blog about the house since I last visited it which was on 24th Sept .
The house in Muar is 90 % done . There are a few things not done which are :
1. Kitchen – this includes putting a washing machine in the kitchen, deep sink and open shelving . Open shelving has been partially done but not completed .
2. Security – wired cc tv . Have abandon the idea of using wifi for security because this is not stable as can trip due to wireless disconnection
3. Grills- have to decide on the pattern of the grills for the french doors. The house needs grills because we live in Malaysia , sigh .
4. Automated gate – needs to fix a safe with number lock outside the gate so that I can leave the automated gate key . This means I do not have to be around for anyone to enter the compound of the house.
5. Do the outdoor sink and maybe a shelf so that I can put a portable hob so that I can have a small outdoor kitchen if need be at the Rumah Kebun .
There are other items that I need to look at once the security is installed
6. Fix blinds for the windows & lace for windows and sliding doors . Need to check out shops in Muar town.
7. Then to get cleaner to clean the house . Got contact for cleaners from neighbor next door Helen , thank gawd .
8. Then might be able to move furniture in the house from PJ. Tentative date of moving in January, 2024.
Furniture to move would be :
Sofa , 2 cane chairs , 2 teak chairs , Ajid desk , Nab ‘s golden bed & matress , 6 of Isobel grandfather’s chairs , .. this is the list for the moment .
9. Need to re – consider redoing ayah cupboard’s with Soo & teak chairs to be upholstered
10. Landscaping – garden to check out for vegetable plot , creepers at Rumah Kebun
11. Market research – see how the pricing of surrounding homestays & AirBnbs .
Guess this is for my personal notes to check with the contractor so I know items that are pending . This is 63rd blog since I started blogging about the house on 26 April, 2023 . I will need to monetarize the house in Muar so Airbnb is a possibility or a homestay . I have seen homestays being advertised and the decor looks awful though looks clean. Many homestays have got swimming pools of varying lengths but putting a swimming pool is not part of my plan. This is because a swimming pool or lap pool requires lots of maintenance & do not want accidents to happen in the pool & open myself to litigation suits from the public.
