I am way behind in writing this blog as I am unable to blog daily as been going out . Went to see the magnificent pyramids of Giza , just outside of Cairo .There are 9 pyramids in total . The pyramids are certaintly a sight to behold . Took a horse cart to go around the bigger pyramids, a bit scary as the horse canters on uneven ground .

It was 24c which is great weather.

We did not go into the pyramids because there was nothing there . The pyramids are just empty tombs. According to the guide, everything has been robbed in the tombs. My aunt however told me that when my grandparents went to the Pyramids , the mummies were still there . By her time that she went to the Pyramids , the mummies were gone .

Then we went to visit the Sphinx . She is just a statute as the temple for mummification was behind the sphinx .

Then we went to Saqqara which is a UNESCO heritage site to view the Steps Pyramids .

Quite a spectacular view of the Steps Pyramids .Saqqara had lots of stray dogs and my friend Rahiyah , the animal lover she is, saved breakfast served at hotel to feed the dogs & cats !

Cobras were viewed as protection by the ancient Eyptians . The temple complex with the Step pyramids are about 5000 years old. The mind boggles ! The guide gave a narration of the choronological eras but I must confess , its above my head ! Very difficult to grasp how old these pyramids and temples are . Besides , the guide typical of many Egyptians speaks very fast with an accent so I have to listen very carefully to her to catch what she is saying !! Oh by the way, I bought hand-made carpets at Saqqara haha . I actually bought 2 carpets for the house in Muar that would look nice with the wooden floorings of the bedrooms .

The pyramids at Giza is certainly worth visiting as one of the 7 Ancient Wonders of the World .
