Installing the kitchen

Went back on Saturday with my contractor and the kitchen installer to Muar. It was a day trip but I did not have to drive . Yay! The kitchen installer who was a young man drove my contractor’s car .

The kitchen is stainless steel and is open shelving . My contractor told me nobody in Malaysia makes kitchens from stainless steel . For wet kitchens and heavy duty kitchens as in industrial kitchens yes but not for homes ! The contractor could not understand why I want stainless steel and open shelves because in our tropical weather , open shelves means cockroaches , house geckos ( cicaks )and a myriad of insects that can reside on those shelves . She has a point . Furthermore, stainless steel is not cheaper than wood , if real wood is used for shelving . The stainless steel installed is customized to the measurements of the kitchen .

The washing machine needs to be ordered and installed . The fridge delivery was at 7 pm but we wanted to go back to KL by then so I told the electrical shop , the delivery of these 2 items needs to be on another day when I come next to Muar.

The electrical items of the oven & 2 burners fits , thanks goodness . Have the deep sink overlooking the window . I just thought stainless steel is easy to clean as just requires a wipe on the surface .

The outdoor sink was also installed outside of the Rumah Kebun . Hopefully, this makes the Rumah Kebun self-contained . A portable stove could be used to cook something light outside the Rumah Kebun.

I need to go back to Muar again for the installation of the washing machine & fridge . I also need to get the Roman Blinds done up as well.
