Have not posted in this blog for some time . This is because I have nothing new to report in terms of the Muar House . Actually , this is the 99th posting since I started this blog.

Went to Muar with my youngest aunt ( my father youngest sister ) and uncle last weekend . We stopped by to spend a night at Port Dickson ( PD ) because my aunt has got a condo there . Managed to have a swim and sat by the beach for while .

That weekend is the only weekend which I am free before Ramadan starts . I also, have Fri & Saturday night classes during Ramadan to finish off the teaching semester . Had a good night sleep ( uninterrupted ) at my aunt’s condo , maybe because of the swim and I was probably tired . The drive from home to PD was only 2 hours so not too bad . We started at 9 am so traffic on the highway has not build up as yet . Had dinner at the PD Golf Club together with my uncle’s sister & bro-in law so there was 5 of us for dinner. Rather pleasant , actually .

I got the cleaners to clean the house last Saturday . 2 girls came to clean the house, thank god ! Not that the house is dirty per say but because it’s dusty and never been cleaned before .Before the trip to Muar I had to make 3 trips to the supermarket and DIY shops to get cleaning detergents , brooms, brillo pads, dishcloths etc.- that tired me out . Basically , I could not get everything I wanted in one shop so had to go to the supermarket & the DIY shops which entailed 3 trips to the shops!. Also, went to Muar to buy a mattress for the bed.

Could not get the delivery of the fridge & washing machine as the delivery man does not deliver on Sunday. The next time I come to Muar is to make sure that I am in Muar on a Saturday . The next trip to Muar will probably be after Hari Raya ( Eid Fitri). Saw En.Rahman as well in this trip as one of the water pipe had a leak so he can fix the leak.

The objective is hopefully after Raya , I can get the living room plus kitchen to be in working order & the master bedroom to be habitable so that part of the house can at least be used . I have not decided about the second bedroom in terms of whether to have 2 single beds or a queen size bed , so let’s see . I need to see whatever furniture is left at my dad’s house that can be restored and fixed so that will take some time . Wonder whether I will have the energy to do those arrangements with the restorer this Ramadan … I will probably have to transfer more furniture to the Muar House from the PJ house and from my condo . Got lots of extra furniture in my condo too so I need to organize this .

The garden for the house in terms of landscaping & planting has to wait till next year when I have more time . The Kebun at the back, I will leave this to Encik Rahman to rehabilitate . He told me he was able to harvest Petai from the Kebun & sold them for RM40 which is great ! That pays for the new tap stopper in the garden !

This ends the trip to PD and Muar for this time being . Till after Raya I guess , I will do down again to Muar. Just really not up to travelling during Ramadan unless I have to .
