My humble house

Day 1 Drove to Muar with Mazni dated 22 July 2024

Mazni came over from Penang the day before so that we could drive to Muar on Monday .I had several items on my checklist to do . I could only transport items & furniture on Monday from my condo . This is because condo management will not allow transporting of household effects on weekend . Got the logistics arranged for the transport guy to pick up items from my condo then  later to meet me in the PJ house to pick up some items of furniture .

I would then meet the lorry with the various items of furniture at the Muar house .

I had a few things to do ;

1) Restored furniture in my condo and at Dad’s house in PJ to be transported to Muar -done

2) Get the termites man to come to the Muar house – done

Anti -termites thingy being planted in the garden at Muar house. Termites checking needs to be done 1x every 6 months

3) Fully paid for king size matress at matress shop in Muar & matress to be delivered on the same day -done

4) contacted cleaners to clean the house for tomorrow -done

5) contact En.Rahman to look at kebun behind the house and other kebuns for tomorrow -done

6) call electrical shop in Muar to deliver  fridge and washing machine . To get the washing machine installed – done

7) Call gas man to deliver gas tank and buy from him gas tank as I have none in the Muar house. Got the gas man phone number from next door neighbour , Helen who is such a life saver ! – done

Got one bedroom habitable as got the matress for the bedframe in there . The second bedroom is bare .

Got Isobel’s grandfather ‘s chairs . Those chairs came all the way from England to Muar haha
Very happy with restorer’s work on chairs . Chairs are sturdy .
Restored dad’s cane chair & new cushion covers & inserts . Looks good and sturdy to sit on so I am happy .

Managed to get some crockery sorted in the cupboard . Forgot to bring cutlery but will bring the cutlery the next time . It has been exceedingly hot . After all of this , I was exhausted .

Rambutans & a pineapple from Helen – so nice of her . She also messaged me to tell me that if there is in any way she can help to let her know

Mazni wanted to eat Mee Bandung which Muar is famous for . Alas , the Mee Bandung Udang Galah at Tanjung Agas has closed shop !!  We had to search for an alternative Mee Bandung shop which we found that was equally good without the Udang Galah .

By the time we got back to the house ,I was exhausted . So that ends Day 1 of this trip.
