There were originally 4 Mata Kuching ( or local lychees but smaller fruits and brown in color ) trees in the front of the garden .
When the house was renovated , there was a need to cut down two trees as the roots of the trees were invasive spilling into the drains and might end up clogging the drainage system . So there is now , two remaining trees left in the front garden but the trees have grown tall . The trees had fruits in the previous fruiting season except that the fruits were not small and skin were too thin. This makes the fruits less fleshy .

I cannot possibly do the trimming of the trees by myself so had to ask Encik Rahman to do this . I was a bit dismayed because the trees no longer provide shade ( from the sun & the noise of the traffic from the front main road ) . However, according to Encik Rahman , the trees should be “rendang ” ( English translation is shady , not sure whether this is a correct translation ) but definitely the trees will not grow so tall . The house has become so hot as direct sunlight streams into the front living room and main bedroom . Sigh . Probably when I do up the garden next year , hopefully , this will cool down the house a bit .
