I managed to get a contractor from KL to do up the driveway and level & put in good soil for the garden . Before this , due to the recommendation of my kind neighbor next door, I did get a local Muar contractor . He did come to meet me at the house and to measure the driveway . He seems decent enough and have been in the industry for a good 30 years – according to him . However, after repeated attempts to message him with no replies so I am assuming he was not really interested and may be busy with bigger projects in the pipeline . This was later confirmed by neighbor- oh well!

Today the KL contractor gave me photos attached in this blog to happenings to the garden of the house . He needs to 1) get rid of odds and ends in the garden like the bricks laying about, rubbish , weeds etc. 2) level the garden because the garden is undulating & uneven 3) put in good soil 4) plant grass

He also needs to do up the main driveway from cement to more of packed pebbles . The driveway needs to be widen to enable a car to do a 3-point turn so that the front of the car faces the main road . The main road is a busy road with much traffic so this is mainly for safety .

I haven’t had time to go down to Muar so hopefully , this weekend to see all this work being done .

Need to meet the contractor , Lawrence again and show him again what else needs to be done . I have told him orally and through messaging though but need to see whether the work has actually been done .

Since , I am lazy to continue grading my last 7 assignment scripts of doctoral papers because I need to review these thoroughly to give a grade so blogging this to show progress . The house is habitable but not arranged in the way that I like but that can wait .

Planting of any kind probably have to wait for next year when I have more time to think and plan. Probably grass and hedges to start with because I just want a low maintenance garden .
