Day 7- Road Trip Friday 30th January 2026. Terrapuri Heritage Village

I have not been blogging because I have been on a road trip from KL to JB to Desaru and then to Tanjung Jara , Trengganu .

I felt compelled to write on our visit to Terrapuri . Terrapuri is  privately owned and the owner, have collected old houses from various parts of Trengganu. He has assembled them piece by piece and these old houses are from 150 -350 years old .

The reception is an old Trengganu palace of 350 years old

The houses are let out as rooms .

We drove from Tanjong Jara Resort to Terrapuri which is a good drive of nearly 2.5 hours

There were 29 houses in the resort while only 22 houses were let out as hotel rooms . We were allowed to tour the houses even not as a staying guest by ringing the bell and paying rm25 per person.

Since there were no staying in guests, we were allowed to view the rooms . This is one of the houses we were allowed to go into.
Bedroom
Bathroom ensuite but you need to climb down a set of wooden stairs
Bathtub

These are old houses so everybody says these houses got spirits or “hantu” . I think this is might be probable  eventhough I am personally skeptical of such supernatural beings haha. The guide who showed us around told us a story that a lady guest who was staying in the resort. She wore a bikini while using the resort pool but she complained at night , she was unable to sleep as she was constantly disturbed . My sister theorized that Islamic ghosts or spirits do not encourage sexiness hahaha .Actually, the owner Mr.Alex Lee ( he is Trengganu Chinese ) , has publicly written in one of the articles on Terrapuri and published in theMAS inflight magazine , that he has done a cleansing process on the resort . Interesting, isnt it . He is passionate on the conservation and restoration of such Trengganu houses, kudos to him .

This cat kept following us
A “sirap with selasih” cold drink given with kerapok ( fish crackers ) after the short tour
Sajak
The front part of the resort
Beach across the road from Terrapuri
Beach hut across Terrapuri
Quite deserted beach
Sulaiman, me , Suhaimi , Zarina, Saliha , Rahiyah and Salleh in front of the reception of Terrapuri

I will consider staying here albeit with or without spirits .  The environment is beautiful with the beach across the road and the river by the side .
