Did a day trip to Murano, the infamous island of glass makers. There were many  glass furnaces owned by glass making families .

Went for a hand blowing glass making demostration at a workshop .

We ate pizzas at the restaurant that was owned by glass making workshop or foundry. I was told explicitly by Hannah that I should not use the word factory but should use the word workshop as more appropriate .

Then we went to the Glass Museum which is a smallish museum and way behold gives you 50 % discount if you are above 65 years old for entrance tickets . There was a small peaceful garden at the museum.

Some really lovely glass artifacts in the museum. By the time we came out , it was almost 5 pm so many of the glass souvenier shops in Murano were closed or were closing up.

I quite liked Murano. The embelm of Murano is the rooster but we kept seeing a snake at the mouth of the rooster with a fox at the back of the rooster . Found out later than the snake and fox were addedin much later in the 16th century .

Came back via vaporetto and of course had gelato to end the day .
