My humble house

Ninfa Gardens, Rome Sept 12,2026. Day 4

We had arrange for a driver and car to take us to Ninfa Gardens. This was expensive . The cheaper way was to get public transport by train to the nearest town and then get a taxi. However, we couldn’t do that because we had a train to catch to Venice at 1551 on the same day. Ninfa Gardens is 80 km from Rome.

The garden is only open on weekends and you are not allowed to walk or wonder off on your own. There is an English guided tour that starts at 10.30 am which took about an hour and a half. This is one of the gardens that Monty Don visited as part of his tv series the Italian Gardens.

The gardens are 8 hectares and employs 7 gardeners .

The gardens were lovely . There was a river running through the garden.

We made it in good time to Termini,the main rail station in Rome. Its been upgraded the last time I was at Termini. Lots of police around . The driver told us to be careful of our money as there were too many gypsies around. Managed to get the Italo Treno ( train ) at 1551 to Venice.Rahiyah liked the train service because it was punctual and they served us twice drinks & a snack..not too bad la as we arrived in Venezia at 1955. This is a journey of nearly 4 hours from Rome.
