The day started dismally because it was raining heavily . The three of us Ann, Rahiyah and myself went for 3 cuppaccinos at a nearby cafe . Since it was raining, we decided to stay in for awhile to wait for the rain to let up . When the rain eased up, then we took the vaporetto to Murano which was probably about 30 minutes from Burano.

We started quite late so by the time we arrived at Murano , its about maybe 1.30 pm . We decided to split because Ann & Hannah wanted to go to the mosaic shop while Rahiyah and myself wanted to hunt for sconces for my Templer’s condo .

We had a few recommendations by my friend (Chatgpt hehehe ) so we walked on the main drag of Murano . Looked at a few shops and was advised ( by my friend again not to waste time browsing glass souvenier shops ) but to go to lighting shops .

The mission in Murano was to get a pair of sconces ( or wall lights ) that I would like . We found out that usually people buy chandeliers and buy side or wall lights to match their chandelier. Thats why its difficult to find sconces on their own. There were many, many chandeliers , some quite ghastly haha.

It seems that the plainer , fluted sconces were quite expensive ! I thought simpler, plain ones would be cheaper but obviously not .

I liked something like the above but this particular sconce , the shop had only one left , unfortunenly when I wanted a pair .

The shop suggested that they send it by courier to our accomodation to Catania so that I don’t have to lug it around as I do not want it being shattered . I still have a long way to go ! It will be send to my accomodation . This was a good suggestion rather than shipping it to Malaysia which will cost a bomb !

Mission accomplished as I got the sconces I wanted for my Templer’s condo yay !
