We arrived very late by train from Bologna into Bari yesterday at 10.30 pm. We left Bari at 2.57pm so it was a 7 hour train journey . We had an earlier mishap as we had boarded the wrong train ! Instead of boarding the 9939 (train number , most important ) italiano treno , we took another train. The train inspector told us to get off at the next station ( Firenze , or Florence ) to catch the 9939 train ! We got so nervous that Rahiyah and myself could not sit down ( even though the train inspector told us to get seats ) , I sat on the steps of the hurling train ,( train going super fast ) Rahiyah was standing all the time till we got off at Florence . Fortunenly , we were able to catch the 9939 train to Bari that we missed at Bologna at Florence. The trick is to check the train numbers of trains ! Lesson learnt .

By the time , we arrived in Bari, it was dark so we took a taxi to the BnB place . The next day, we got our hired car and had to park at designated Park and Ride parking site as the old parts of the city are ZTL zones ( traffico limito zones) . We walked to Bari Veccia ( or old Bari ).

Then we decided to have lunch as it waa  already 3 pm, or late lunch. We went to Le Nicche and had a great lunch .

We walked through the arch and these were the homes of the nonas ( Italian grandmothers ) making orechiettes ( pasta ) by hand . However, since we there only in the afternoon ,the nonas had retired to their homes haha but their pasta, dried tomatoes ( looks very good! ) and customized tins of olive oil. Was of course tempted to buy, but lugging it in my luggage is another problem . Afterall, still got another month of Sicily to go !

Its quite a nice walk as temperature was 21c and breezy .

Took a walk , it was pleasant .

Then ends another day in Bari . Managed to drive , the roads are not too bad but Italian drivers are more impatient than M’sian drivers as they honk more frequently and generally more impatient , sigh.
