We did nothing much yesterday . I was feeling feverish so I just slept and slept the whole day of Saturday . Not sure why I was feeling feverish . Maybe a touch of too much sun , not drinking enough water or being over tired . Maybe a combination of all 3 factors . Rahiyah and Jannet decided to make spaghetti bolongnese with the mincemeat we got from the halal butcher who is literally 2 doors away !

Today, we waited till the day became less hot , ( is that right English ?) to take a 15 minute walk to Villa Guilia. A little history on the public garden is that Villa Giulia dates from 1777–78, during the late Bourbon/Spanish-viceregal period. It was commissioned by Antonino La Grua, Marquis of Regalmici and Pretore (chief magistrate) of Palermo, and designed by the architect Nicolò Palma.
What makes it particularly interesting is what was there before.
The land was on the edge of the old city, near the sea at Piano di Sant’Erasmo. Fishermen from the Kalsa used the shore there to spread their fishing nets out to dry. There had also been earlier gardens belonging to the powerful Chiaramonte family. I could go on about the history but it might be a bit too much .

The garden is not well looked after, I must say . It is neglected . Then we took a walk at the Waterfront which faces the Bay of Palermo . Interestingly , this is next to the busy port of Palermo.

As the it was evening , it became much cooler and bearable to walk . Since it was Sunday, many people walking about on the waterfront too.

Saw this magnificant , old ( everything is old in Italy !! ) building that looked unoccupied . Probably needed restoration. Palermo has many old, magnificant buildings that needs repairs ! There is so.much beauty here , its incredible .

We got home and I had leftover pasta for dinner . That ends today .
