Rahiyah drove to Partinico , another small town not very far from where we were staying at San Guisspe Jato . We parked the car & found out by asking a passer-by that there no parking charges as it was a Saturday . We walked to the town center and went to the local supermarket . At the supermarket counter , Jannet met a lovely girl who lives in Partinico but orginally from Sri Lanka . Her name is Usha and she offered to take us around .

We just walked around the hamlet. Its tiny and just had restaurants & pizzerias . It was cooler then , around 19c .

Usha brought us ( she jumped into our car ) to a sandy ( it was sandy but sand not as fine ) beach at Balestrate .( I think I got the name of the place, right )

We walked on the waterfront overlooking the beach . It was a panaromic view .

Usha and Jannet were talking in Tamil ( lingua franca) but Usha started talking in English too. She has been in Italy since she is 2 years old so is fluent in Italian. She insisted on giving us olive oil so she brought us to meet this 88 year old friend of hers who lives in Partinico.

Angela has lived in this apartment for 35 years . Usha had to translate as Angela could only speak Italian . She gave us 1 litre bottle of freshly pressed olive oil which in no way am I bringing back . For a start , its in a glass bottle ! Angela served us tea and buscuits at her place.
Usha gave us Sicilian biscuits too We exchange mobile numbers and to keep in touch with her . We felt we have made a friend of all places in a small town, Partinico .
Of course , had a gelato with Rahiyah, Jannet and Usha. Was very happy but boy oh boy , the calories.
