We drove to Agrigento which is 155km away , around 2 hrs 30 minutes drive . Rahiyah drove, I did not . The valley ( it is not in a valley ) houses 3 remaining Greek temples bearing testimony that Sicily was Greek colony , 2,500 years ago . This was before Sicily was conquered by the Romans and after that by the Arabs in 800 AD and then the Normans. Just to get the timeline right .

The temples were on top of a hill at the town of Agrigento. The entrance fee was €17 each which we thought was a bit steep but if it contributes to maintaining tbe site, then thats fine .

The second temple we walked was Temple Concordia . Its about a 5 km walk from one temple to another .

The third temple was the temple I liked best .

This is a UNESCO world heritage site reconized in 1997 . We were not able to walk into the temple but had towalk around the perimeter . The views were great because like most temples , its on a hill as higher ground is considered sacred like the temples in Kyoto . We walked into this garden between Concordia and Hercule Temple belonging to a British Army major who build a garden between these two temples.

We had ice cream at site . There was a cactus garden which was interesting .

We got home quite late . Went to San Guisppe Jato, the nearest town and had pizza for dinner & takeaway for Jannet .
