Archimedes & Leonardo Da Vinci Museum and ferry to Malta

Wanted to go to Modica for a day trip by Inter-bus . Had to abandoned the day trip because Modica is 2 hrs 30 mins by bus one way so if we did make the trip , will be back in Siracusa at 10pm . It would be much too late because taxi coming at 5.45 am early morning to take us to Pozzallo port for the ferry to Malta . Need to pack too . Decided to walk to Ortigia instead and visit Archimedes & Leonardo Museum instead .

Had a double scoop gelato on the way of course, pistacho and niccola ( hazelnut ). I had only one of those, the other is for Rahiyah la as she was taking my photo

Because we had waited for 20 minutes for entrance to the museum, the lady boss after much apologies, gave us a 50% discount so we paid only €8 for both of us instead of €16 . I was pleasantly suprised by this museum because the museums descriptions were just models of inventions of Archimedes & Leonardo Da Vinci. However, the museum was interactive so you could try out the models of the inventions of Achimedes and Leonardo Da Vinci .

One of his greatest invention is the screw is to tansform the chore of drawing water . I tried this by turning the wheel quickly so water was drawn upwards
This one is whereby you use the weight from narrow to the broad part and the weight will roll till the end .This is the concept of a fulcrum.
Another model of an invention

Anyway, that’s the gist of the museum, which was a novelty to try out all the models with a video explaining the inventions.

It was raining as we walked in Ortigia
Liked the pattern of the wrought iron railings
The museum was in an old convent . Liked all this wrought iron railings

The taxi came very early at 5.45 am to take us to Pozzallo port for the ferry to Malta. While walking with our luggage , we wondering do we need to carry our luggage into the boat through the stairs via the gangway. However, the ferry boat had provided a luggage rack with a guy to load all luggages of passengers before going up the stairs via the gangway to the boat ! Phew ! Then as we arrived into the port in Malta , the luggage was waiting to be claimed at the site of the disembarkation .

Its a car ferry . Journey was 1 hr 45 mins , not too long
Sitting outside
Mainland of Sicily in the distance
Inside of car ferry . Decent
Entering into Malta. Super yatchs
Deep habor

Saw many old ” decrepet “Mat Sallehs with us on the ferry . They had walking sticks with their luggages waiting to board the ferry car to Malta with us. What struck me about them  was their willingness & spirit to travel despite their age & obvious  physical limitation so kudos to them for still wanting to  travel and see the world !
